ROBBIE Williams trends on Twitter following ROBIN Williams's death - are trolls to blame?

Tweets have been posting tributes to the 'late' singer, but many are clearly just trolling

Confusion? Robbie Williams is trending on Twitter following Robin Williams's death
So is it yet more Twitter trolling or can people just not spell?
Perhaps inevitably, the name Robbie Williams has begun trending on Twitter in the wake of the Hollywood  actor Robin Williams's death this morning.
Take That has also trended, supposedly because fans of the boy band thought their long awaited reunion with Robbie was cut short.

Scores of Tweeters have posted 'RIP Robbie' comments this morning, although some of them are clearly just jokes in poor taste from internet trolls.

What's not clear is how many people actually thought Robbie Williams had passed away, given the similarities in their names.
For those that are just making a joke, the response on line has not been positive, with posters branded 'sick'.
Although, as one online wag points out, given that Robin Williams was a comedian, maybe he would have seen the funny side.
Hollywood is in mourning after Oscar-winning actor and comedian was found dead at his Californian home in an apparent suicide following a severe battle with depression.
