Billy Bob Thornton on Angelina Jolie marriage: "She thought it would be romantic if we sliced our fingers"

The pair were married for two years and were famous for wearing a vial of each other's blood - which Billy has now finally explained

Billy Bob Thornton has opened up about his "whirlwind" marriage to Angelina Jolie, revealing she wanted them to wear each other's blood round their necks as a romantic gesture.

The actor and his stunning ex wife were well known for wearing a vial of each other's blood, and Billy has finally revealed it was Ang's idea all along - and she even bought razor blades so they could cut themselves for the cause.

Ouch.

He told the Hollywood Reporter: "Angie came home one day with…you know those lockets you buy that are clear and you put a picture of your granny in it or something like that and wear it around your neck? That’s what it was. She bought two of those.

Angelina wasn't left smiling

"We were apart a lot because she's off making Tomb Raider and I'm making Monster’s Ball. We were on opposite ends, we see each other for two weeks and whatever.

"She thought it would be interesting and romantic if we took a little razorblade and sliced our fingers, smeared a little blood on these lockets and you wear it around your neck just like you wear your son or daughter’s baby hair in one. Same thing."

The pair wed in 2000 after just months of dating, but split two years later, finally finalising their divorce in 2003.

Billy added: "It was, I mean it was a crazy time.


It didn't end so well

"I mean from ’95 or so when we were making Sling Blade on through the time Angelina and I split up which was 2003 I suppose, that whole time was quite a whirlwind and that was, you know, an amazing time. And I've never been fond of it."

The out-there pair were also rumours to have a dungeon in their home - but Billy told the site it was more of a basement with a recording studio in - which is nowhere near as exciting Billy Bob.
