Manchester United Set To Offer Van Persie New Contract (Reports)



Manchester United are reportedly preparing a new deal for Netherlands captain, Robin Van Presie. If the deal is signed, the forward’s stay at Manchester United would be extended by two years.

Despite not reaching the heights he attained in his first season at Old Trafford, the former Arsenal man has become an integral part of the Manchester United set up and would look to continue playing for the club. Officials of Manchester United have already held meetings with the striker’s agent but nothing official has been announced. Manchester United are not popular for giving more than one year extensions to players above thirty but with the fitness issues surrounding Falcao and Chicharito’s Manchester United future still uncertain, a deal to keep Van Persie might just be a smart move.

Van Persie’s injury time equalizer against Chelsea is arguably the highlighy of Manchester United’s season so far.
