Suge Knight charged with murder after friend Terry Carter dies

The rap mogul handed himself into police hours after the shocking incident which left one man dead and another injured

Suge Knight has been charged with premeditated murder following a hit and run incident which left his friend Terry Carter dead.

The hip hop boss has also been charged with attempted murder, hit and run resulting in death, and hit and run resulting in injury.

Hours after the terrible tragedy, Knight handed himself in to police after he was identified as a person of interest by detectives investigating the incident in Compton, Los Angeles.

A Los Angeles judge today revoked the £1.4million bail that was set for Knight after saying he believed he was a flight risk.



Detectives petitioned the county bail commissioner asking to keep Knight in jail fearing he may flee.

“They asked that his bail be raised to ‘no bail’ due to several factors – that he’s a possible flight risk and a three-strike candidate, possible witness intimidation and then his criminal past,” police spokesman Nicole Nishida said.

The LA District Attorney filed charges against the 49-year-old following the death last week of Terry Carter.

He was killed on the set of a commercial after Knight became embroiled in an argument. As he drove off he allegedly hit Carter, 55, who died from his injuries.

Another man, Cle "Bone" Sloane, was also injured during the incident.

Police sources claim detectives have managed to obtain a video of the incident which captures “a portion” of what led to Carter’s death.

Knight allegedly struck both men in his pick up truck at Tam’s Burgers in Compton, California, on Thursday afternoon after an argument about 30 minutes earlier on the set of a film shoot called “Straight Outta Compton”.

LA County Sheriff, Lt. John Corina has reportedly said a red pick up truck, matching the description of that driven by Knight, struck Carter and Sloane at around 3pm.

Sloane, 51, was rushed to hospital but has non-life threatening injuries.

An empty truck matching the description of Knight's was found late Thursday night in a West Los Angeles parking lot, Corina added.

The music mogul was shot six times in LA nightclub 1OAK in August while partying with Chris Brown.
