Afrobasket2015: Ugbuaja and Oyedeji join D’tigers camp

The duo of Ejike Ugbuaja and Olumide Oyedeji have joined the camp of Nigeria’s national men’s basketball team ahead of the first leg qualifier for the 2015 African Basketball Championship holding in Tunisia in June.

Ugbuaja, an Olympian, last played for Nigeria at the London 2012 Olympics while Oyedeji (also an Olympian) last competitive game for Nigeria was at the 2013 Nations Cup in Abidjan.

D’Tigers coach, Ahmed Sanni, defended the invitation of the two players, stating that their inclusion in the team would give the team the needed experience to triumph over Burkina Faso this weekend.

Coach Sanni said in a press statement signed by the team’s media officer, Akinkunle Bolarinwa, that he needs 100 per cent commitment from all the players including the new additions.

“The 16 players in camp will have to give 100 per cent commitment before they can be considered for the team’s roaster against Burkina Faso,” he said.

The D’Tigers have played and won all their four preparatory games since the team started camping over a month ago.
