Flying Eagles insisted on Ghana Must Go

Nigeria’s quest for a seventh CAF African Youth Championship record remained on course yesterday with Flying Eagles 2-0 defeat of Ghana’s Black Satellites at Senegal 2015 edition in Dakar.

Coach Manu Garba and his wards will today know who their opponents in the final will be between Senegal they helped qualify for this stage of the tournament by eliminating Cote d’Ivoire and Mali.
Diminutive Obinna Nwhobo opened Nigeria’s goal tally in the 22nd minute of play when he nodded home a corner kick by captain of the team, Musa Mohammed.

Flying Eagles doubled their advantage in the 71st minute from the penalty spot when Mohammed converted the kick after he was brought down on his way to goal.

That second goal killed the game for the Flying Eagles as the Ghanaians threw away chance after chance in their quest to draw level.
Usman Sale ought to have opened scoring for Nigeria as early as the third minute but Michael Sai in goal post for the Ghanaians did well to save off his feet right inside the box.

The Black Satellites threatened after nine minutes when danger man Yaw Yeboah dashed into the box but goalkeeper Joshua Enaholo was alert to block out the danger.
Enaholo also tipped for a corner a goal-bound free kick by Yeboah two minutes later, before Sale failed to connect for the Flying Eagles from inside the box.
Nigeria will come close again after 25 minutes, when a shot came off the post and on the half hour Enaholo again denied Yeboah with a fine save.

Yeboah again saw his effort from top of the box come off the post two minutes later.
Enaholo will save a snapshot by Cliffird aboagye in the 39th minute.
In the 44th minute, Musa saw his free kick clipped the crossbar.
There was also a superb solo run by man of the match Nwobodo but his final shot missed the target by whiskers.
All the four teams in the semi final are to represent the continent at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand later in the year.
