NOC names Igali Technical Commission Chairman

The Nigeria Olympic Olympic Committee, NOC, has appointed President of Nigeria Wrestling Federation Dr Daniel Igali as it's Chairman of Technical and Development Commission as Team Nigeria looks set to better it's third place finishing in the last All Africa
Games in Maputo.
President of NOC, Engineer Habu Gumel announced the appointment with the tacit approval of the Board and Exco members of the NOC during their meeting at the Boardroom of the NOC, National Stadium, Surulere.

Honourable Igali, a politician, Olympic Gold medallist, coach and a PhD holder thereby becomes the first man to be appointed by two different NOC's. The former NOC led by Engr Sani M. Ndanusa also appointed him as the Technical head before the Commonwealth Games in Scotland. The beauty of the appointment was that Igali was not present at the deliberations.

""He's a young man of many parts. He is highly intelligent and a go-getter. You can see the support from his Federation colleagues was overwhelming. We want him to use it to the good of Team Nigeria"", President Gumel said.

A shocked Igali why speaking on phone thanked the Board and Exco members for finding him worthy to hold the position.
""I'm surprised. I thank all of them and promise that Team Nigeria will benefit from this appointment". He also promised that Nigeria will do better than it did at the last All Africa Games.

Other Commissions announced include Marketing Commission with Chief Fatai Williams as Chairman, Amuwo Odofin Project Development Committee(Chief Solomon Ogba as Chairman), Athlete Commission( Enefiok Udo-Obong), Sports For All Commission(Henry Amike), Women And Sports Commission with Mary Onyali as Chairperson.

The Commissions and Committees would be inaugurated after the general elections.
