Defamation Of Character: Keshi Demands $5m From NFF

Former Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has asked for a $5m (N1.2bn) compensation from the Nigeria Football Federation for claiming that his sack earlier this month resulted from a breach of contract on his part.

The 53-year-old was sacked by the NFF who claimed he put in an application to coach Ivory Coast, contrary to the spirit of his contract.

Keshi, who was in his third spell in charge of the team that he led to win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, has written through his lawyers for compensation.

He was sacked a few weeks after leading the Super Eagles to a 2-0 victory over Chad as they opened their AFCON 2017 qualifying campaign in Kaduna.

He has since been replaced by former team mate Sunday Oliseh.
