Kobe Bryant amazed by Lamar Odom's 'truly remarkable' recovery after he was found unconscious

After fears Lamar wouldn't pull through, the NBA player has began to make positive progress

Kobe Bryant has said that Lamar Odom's recovery is 'truly remarkable'.

The basketballer was one of the many left fearing for his friend's life when he was found unconscious in a Navada brothel earlier this month.

However after Lamar remained unresponsive for several days, he began to make positive strides from his hospital bed.
Kobe, who once played alongside Lamar with the LA Lakers, said that it's 'amazing' to see the progress he's made.

He told the Los Angeles Times: "He's a brother, above everything else. It's important to see him get back on his feet.

"It's amazing to see him doing so well. It truly is remarkable."

Lamar's road to recovery is still ongoing after it was reported his organs were so badly damaged that he is on dialysis and may need a kidney transplant .

It's also been reported that the 35-year-old has been left with permanent scarring on his lungs after he caught pneumonia.

A source told PEOPLE: "The pneumonia was a huge setback, and now there's worry about permanent scarring of the lungs.

"His kidneys are still not functioning correctly, but he's nowhere near strong enough to even think of a transplant, so he's on dialysis."

Meanwhile ex-Khloe Kardashian, who split from the athlete in 2013, said she would be staying by his side.

However the reality star has insisted that the pair won't be getting back together just yet as there are 'too many medical things to think about '.

She explained: "There are too many other important things, too many medical things. It's not even in our brains thinking about us as a couple or having a relationship right now."
