Wait, The Mother of Michael Jackson’s Secret Son Is Actually Billie Jean?

The King of Pop's signature hit 'Billie Jean' has left an unbeatable mark on 20th century popular culture.

Most of us were either babies or hadn't even been born yet, and we're still very much aware of the impact Jackson had on the entertainment industry, during the 'Thriller' days of the early '80s.

For a 1983 televised special entitled Motown: Yesterday, Today and Forever, a young Jackson in his early 20s performed 'Bille Jean' to an unsuspecting crowd.

The crooner was equipped for the first time with a sparkly glove and glistening socks, debuting the crotch-grabbing tic and showcasing the physics-defying moonwalk; the naissance of Michael Jackson the superstar had finally come.

A very long story short, the world lost any sanity it had left, Michael Jackson's career reached extraterrestrial levels, and the song 'Billie Jean' and the album 'Thriller' went on to sell 100 million copies worldwide. The latter of the three established a record that remains intact 33 years later.

But there is arguably one aspect of the blockbuster hit 'Billie Jean' that has escaped people's attention somewhat, namely the song's lyrics.

When you take the time to venture behind the infectious rhythm and streamline production, what you find is a paranoid Michael, refuting claims against him that he is the father of Billie Jean's child."But the kid is not my son"

Cast your mind back to the lyrics of the song's hook:

Billie Jean is not my lover

She's just a girl who claims that I am the one

But the kid is not my son

She says I am the one, but the kid is not my son
The song is well written, but is the lyrical content the stuff of pure fiction, or is Michael talking about a scandal that actually happened?

Putting our detective hats on, the son of Billie Jean would have to be around 33 or 34 today. He would also hopefully bear somewhat of a resemblance to the Moonwalking star.

So, are there any candidates?

Well there's this one guy who was born on April 2, 1981, which would make him 34 years old. 'Billie Jean' was written sometime in 1981 and was released in 1982 -- so it fits chronologically.

Meet Brandon Howard

Brandon Howard (a.k.a. B Howard) is the son of Gospel/Jazz singer Miki Howard who used to work closely with the Jackson's in the late '70s and early '80s, and was represented by father of the tribe, Joe Jackson.

But this is where it all gets a bit weird.
Back in the early '80s, Miki used to go by the name Billy
The alleged Billie Jean. Were she and MJ together?

She would have, without a doubt, spent a lot of time with the Jacksons (considering she was signed to Joe Jackson), and probably would have gotten to know young Michael, who still lived at home, quite well.

Perhaps too well.

B Howard could plausibly be a blend of his mother and alleged father. He has Michael's wide smile, eyes and eyebrows. He also has a similar arching hairline.

Last year, TMZ claimed to have got hold of a sample of Howard's DNA. Before the results could be revealed, Howard quickly went on to Facebook to post the following video message to his fans:
Setup Timeout Error: Setup took longer than 10 seconds to complete.

"I'm definitely not suing the estate, I've been taken care of very well and also I make my own cash, OK?
"I did a DNA test but it had nothing to do with any of this, I swear on my life. I'm done.
"Wherever you guys go from here it is what it is. Whatever the DNA test results come out as, it is what it is.”

Howard claims to have given filmon.tv a DNA sample for a documentary he gave his consent to be part of. He maintains that he received no information that it would be used to investigate whether Jackson is his biological father.

It's reported that this sample was compared to a DNA dental impression of an old orthodontic device worn by the late 'Dangerous' star. TMZ reported that the results came back as '99.9%' proof that Howard is indeed the biological son of Michael Jackson.

However, TMZ later came out and said that the test results were fake

This doesn't mean that B Howard couldn't be Michael's son, it just means that the best we can do is look at all the evidence available to us and speculate.

So getting back to speculating, the 34-year-old star definitely sounds like his 'father'; they have the same adorable lisp, as well as the same high nasal tone.

Granted, these things could all be put on in an attempt by the 34-year-old to raise his own profile. People could say that by prolonging the suspicion of whether he is the biological son of Michael Jackson, he is maintaining public interest.

But there is still a lot of evidence that supports the claim.

Reading between the lines

We should consider that Howard is giving a very diplomatic response in his TMZ disclaimer video. Remember when he says:
"I'm definitely not suing the estate, I've been taken care of very well, and I also make my own cash, OK"?

Well, it seems that the Jacksons' estate has been supporting Howard financially. It wouldn't be plausible that they would do this for Miki Howard's son if he had no Jackson connection. Could they even be paying him off?
Is MJ's mother, Kathryn Jackson, keeping a secret?

In the same video, Brandon never explicitly denies being the 'HIStory' star's son, rather he only denies ever publicly self-proclaiming to be. An important distinction to consider. He also doesn't shut down the possibility that the DNA test results could be true, merely stating "it is what it is."
"His eyes looked like mine"

There's also another clue hiding in the lyrics of 'Billie Jean' itself. One of the verses reads as follows:

She told my baby we'd danced 'til three

Then she looked at me

She showed a photo of a baby crying

His eyes looked like mine

Go on dance on the floor in the round, baby

This is an important clue and it's quite astonishing to see that Brandon Howard does have very similar eyes to Michael Jackson.

Miki Howard: "I am Brandon's father"

53-year-old Miki Howard, Brandon's mother, has never confirmed who the father of Brandon is. Whenever she is asked this question in interviews, she always replies with the response "I am Brandon's father," meaning she was the sole caregiver to him when he was growing up. This leaves the door open for Brandon to still be the biological son of Michael Jackson.
So let's summarize
The 1982 hit 'Billie Jean' is about the woman, Billie Jean, who claims Michael Jackson is the father of her son.
At the time, Joe Jackson (Michael's father) was Miki's manager and so she was heavily involved with the Jackson family.
Miki used to go by the name 'Billy'.
Miki (Billy) had a son in 1981, Michael recorded 'Billie Jean' in 1982.
B Howard has grown up with a strong resemblance to Michael, including his eyes which are even referenced in 'Billie Jean.'
B Howard has financially "been taken care of very well" by the Jackson estate and his mother 'Billie Jean' has signed a non-disclosure agreement with the family.
B Howard considers the Jacksons family and has never explicitly denied being the son of Michael Jackson.
Miki (a.k.a. Billy) has never confirmed who the father is.

There's a lot more to be said about the B Howard case.

Here we've discussed the main points, but there's definitely more evidence out there!
