Deco feels former Brazilian star Ronaldinho was more talented than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo

Former Barcelona midfielder Deco feels the current top two footballers in the world – Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo – are not as talented as former Brazil ace Ronaldinho.

Ronaldinho, who won two League titles and the 2006 Uefa Champions league with Barcelona, won the 2004 and 2005 Ballon d’Or – three less than current holder Messi, and one less than the Argentine’s perennial rival Ronaldo.

Yet Deco, who played alongside both Ronaldinho and Messi at Camp Nou, feels the former had more talent than both current stars.

"Ronaldinho was more talented than Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo," Deco told Sport. "When we didn't know what to do, he would create chances to score.

"[Ronaldo] was young, athletic and very competitive. Messi worked hard to do what he does now with the ball for Barca, but what Ronaldinho had was completely natural, he had a special ability. Every time we gave him the ball, he would score a different type of goal."

Ronaldinho, a who also starred in Europe for the likes of AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, is currently clubless, having terminated his contract with Brazilian club Fluminese in September last year.
