Nigeria avoid Egypt in 2018 World Cup qualifiers



Nigeria will avoid 2017 Africa Cup of Nations nemesis,Egypt in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers after both teams weredrawn in the same Pot by FIFA ahead of the draw scheduled for June the 24th in Cairo.

Egypt eliminated the Super Eagles from next year’s AFCON after holding them to a 1-all draw in Kaduna before beating them 1-nil in the return leg..

Nigeria are in Pot 2 with Egypt, Cape Verde,D.R. Congo and Mali.

The continent’s top seeds, Algeria, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal and Tunisia are all in Pot 1.

Pot 3 has Cameroon, Morocco, Guinea, South Africa and Congo.

The lowest seeds, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Zambia, Gabon and Zambia are in Pot 4.

The 20 teams will be divided into five groups with the overall winners qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
