Progressive Governors proffer solution for Fulani herdsmen, community crisis

Members of the Progressives Governors Forum have urged their counterparts across the country to engage Fulani Herdsmen in their states with a view to resolving the lingering clashes between host communities and the herdsmen.

The Forum gave this position shortly after inaugurating the National Governorship Campaign Council for the September 10, 2016 governorship election in Edo State.

In a communique issued after its meeting at the Government House in Benin on Friday night by the Forum’s Chairman and Governor of Imo state, Owelle Rochas, the forum also appealed to Nigerians to continue to support the President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration in the face of the challenges the nation is going through.

It assured that concerted efforts are being made to ameliorate their plight just as it also restated its desire to hold the next edition of its lecture series in August, 2016 in Kaduna State.
