Meghan McCain slams 'garbage election', announcing she refuses to vote for either Trump or Clinton

Meghan McCain has voiced her disdain for the presidential election, calling it a 'garbage election with two garbage candidates'.
Capturing the sentiments of many Americans who feel stuck between a rock and a hard place, she tweeted on Thursday: 'I won't be bullied into voting for Trump or Hillary. This is a garbage election. I truly fear for the future of this country I love so much.'
The 31-year-old daughter of John McCain, who has described herself as a 'socially liberal Republican' fired shots at both candidates.
When Donald Trump accepted the GOP nomination in Cleveland last month, McCain tweeted: 'The party I was part of is dead'.
She elaborated on her feelings on her talk radio show America Now, saying: 'It's really hard. I understand the voters have spoken. I understand that he's had more votes than any other candidate, but this is an incredibly polarizing election...
'This is not the vision for America I have,' she said, before adding: 'This is a garbage election with two garbage candidates and America deserves a lot better than this.'
She has been vocal about her dislike of Trump, saying last week onFOX that while her father has endorsed the business tycoon, she refuses to vote for him.
She pointed to Trump's spat with the Khan family, as well as his comments about prisoners of war in a face-off between Trump and John McCain earlier this year.
Trump famously declared John McCain was not a war hero before adding: 'I like people who weren’t captured.'
In addition to her tweet on Thursday declaring she would not be supporting either party's candidate, the outspoken political commentator had strong words for the GOP in a tweet that highlighted a growing rift within the party.
She wrote: 'I'm sick of people like me being blamed for this mess. This is your candidate and your version of the party. You broke it, you bought it.'
But she also slammed the Democratic nominee, saying on FOX: 'When Donald Trump says things it offends people sometimes - when Hillary makes mistakes, people die.'
Expressing a fatigue for the elections, as well as a distaste for both candidates, McCain tweeted last week: 'You guys, what if we all died and this election cycle is actually purgatory?'
