The Ivorian looked a possible candidate for the axe under City’s new manager after also falling out with him in their time together at Barcelona.
Toure was not at his best for City last season, and may now be on his way out after a major statement from Guardiola on the opening day of the season.
City host Sunderland at the Etihad Stadium for the Spaniard’s first game in charge, but he’s gone with a central midfield pairing of Fernandinho and David Silva.
