This is Oscar Pistorius with his lower half covered in blood, in the hours after he shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
The haunting image was shown to a court this morning during day 10 of the Paralympian's trial for the murder of the 29-year-old model.
He admits shooting Reeva, but denies murder, claiming he mistook her for an intruder.
The photograph was taken by police after they were called to Pistorius' home in the early hours of Valentine's Day 2013, and shows Pistorius bare-chested, wearing his prosthetic legs and grey shorts.
The right leg of his shorts is soaked in blood.
A second image, also shown to the court, showed a large tattoo on the accused's back, and his upper arm smeared with blood.
