Federal Government declares May 1 public holiday.

The Federal Government has declared tomorrow, May 1, 2014 as public holiday to commemorate the 2014 workers’ day celebration.
The Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro, who made this declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulated Nigerian workers for their resilience and commitment in the face of obvious challenges of daily living.
He also enjoined the workers to support the present government in its efforts to improve the work environment and living conditions of Nigerian workers.
President Goodluck Jonathan has cancelled the meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) today, to enable council members attend the 3-day prayer for Late Captain Yusuf Sabo Sambo, younger brother of Vice President Namadi Sambo.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Pius Anyim, made this known in a statement last night.
Vice President Sambo’s immediate younger brother, Yusuf, it will be recalled, died in a car crash in Abuja, three days ago
