Known as Mr Muscles: Sarmad died after taking fat-burning pills
A teenage bodybuilder who “wanted the body of a Greek god” died after taking drugs which enabled him to lose 11lb in a single day.
An inquest heard Sarmad Alladin, 18, known to friends as Mr Muscles, failed to heed the advice of doctors who warned him of the risks of using body-building drugs as he dreamed of playing for the Indian rugby team.
Sarmad, the son of a millionaire, suffered stomach pains after taking weight-loss drug dinitrophenol or DNP in February last year.
He had bought it on the internet while at the University for the Creative Arts in Epsom, Surrey, an inquest in Woking heard.
Harry Shapiro, of charity Drugscope said: “DNP can lead the body to overheat.
“It’s so dangerous bodybuilding websites warn against it.”
Verdict: Accident.
