Here I am: But Suarez didn't consult Liverpool over his apology
Liverpool are braced for an approach by Barcelona for Luis Suarez after the bad-boy striker's apology for biting.
Suarez did not consult Liverpool over the issue of his public apology on twitter for biting Giorgio Chiellini.
It is believed the Anfield club see Suarez's statement as preparing the way for a bid by Barcelona.
Barca need to be able to sell Suarez's transfer to their fans because of his repeated misdemeanours and his apology is seen as a step towards improving his battered public image.
Suarez did not include Liverpool or their fans in his statement, even though they have always stood resolutely behind him through all his troubles.
Liverpool are also the ones who will bear the brunt of his four-month ban and he will miss the first two-and-a-half months of the season.

This is also being seen inside Anfield as a sign that Suarez was thinking of a different constituency when he made his apology.
Liverpool are now expecting official contact from Barcelona to begin the bidding for the Uruguay striker and reports in Spain say the former Ajax star had to apologise before the Catalans would move for him.
