Alan Pardew claims the transfer window will have been a success even if Newcastle don't spend today.

Alexandre Lacazette, the Lyon forward, is United's top target, but a fresh bid over the weekend was rejected.
Defender Mapou Yanga Mbiwa is likely to be loaned out to Roma or Marseille, after an unsuccessful season. There are doubts over his aerial ability in the Premier League.
The future of Hatem Ben Arfa remains in the balance, with him frozen out of the first team.
Newcastle would love to cash in , but no clubs in France are matching his wages, and the player wants to stay and hope for a change of manager.
