Game Of Thrones releases mysterious teaser for fans

Game Of Thrones, you're in for a Wednesday treat. The HBO series has launched a new website and teaser to get us all excited for Season 5.

The official GoT Twitter account tweeted a link to a website called ThreeEyedRaven.com, which promises to give fans "The Sight" via Twitter or text message.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Twitter users get a message telling them:

"You now have the power of #TheSight. Keep watch for visions of the future."

We're assuming the "Sight" actually means notifications that will lead to a trailer or some sort of big announcement about Season 5. But if all the mystery of this is driving you mad, there's also a teaser you can watch showing Ayra Stark, with a voiceover of Melisandre telling her: "I see a darkness in you."

Watch it below, and sign up to the website here.

Looks like season 5 of Game Of Thrones might annoy some of the book's hardcore fans.

In a behind-the-scenes video (WHICH CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS) that surfaced on Youtube, it looks like the plot of the TV series will veer away from events in A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons, which season 5 is supposed to be based on.

The main difference? In the books, Jaime Lanister is told to manage the family's soldiers in Westeros. But in this video, Jaime is seen hanging in Dorne, with Prince Doran Martell of Dorne, and Ellaria Sand.

Vanity Fair, who first alerted us to the video, have explained why deviating from the books could be a good thing - so head over there to find out more (and be prepared for yet more spoilers).
ON FRIDAY 17 OCTOBER 2014, WE WROTE...

Exciting news Game Of Thrones fans; the new series will feature the first ever flashback scenes, giving viewers a peek into the past of some of the characters.

Executive producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss had been avoiding the convention up until now, but confirmed the news during a recent Q&A in Spain.

"By making the first season, we set a rule - no prophecies, dreams or flashbacks," they said.

"We failed the first two and this season the third. So yes, this season will finally have flashbacks."

The cast and crew are currently filming in a host of locations worldwide including Northern Ireland and Croatia.

Some BIG news for fans of Game of Thrones. Season 5 will not feature Bran Stark or Hodor, as confirmed by Hodor himself (or Kristian Nairn, as he's known in real life).

Nairn revealed on an Australian TV network that both he and the actor who plays Bran will be on hiatus during Season 5.

"We have a season off and we have a year's hiatus, solely because I imagine our storyline is up to the end of the books" he said.

"So, I get my year off now to do Rave of Thrones and gallivant all over the world" he added.

For the uninitiated, 'Rave of Thrones' is the DJ show/themed dance parties Nairn puts on for hardcore fans of the show - currently touring Australia. Amazing.

Game of Thrones author George R R Martin has a rather bold message for fans of the books and TV show - "F*** You". But he kind of had a good reason to be so severe.

You see, eager fans have been speculating that the author will die before he finishes the wildly popular (and very lengthy) series of books. Some even complained that his other commitments were delaying him creating more books, while others were concerned that all the fuss was because Martin was unwell.

So in an interview with Swiss daily newspaper Tages-Anzeiger, Martin opened up about how he found all this speculation about his health pretty unpleasant (as you would).

"I find that question pretty offensive, frankly, when people start speculating about my death and my health, so fuck you to those people".

He then, reportedly, gave "those people" the finger.

Martin added that he was writing the books as fast as he can, and he wouldn't change his working methods for "impatient" fans:

"I'm 65 years old now; I've been writing professionally since 1971. I know my working methods. I don't work when I travel, I don't work in hotels, I don't work on airplanes, I don't work on trains. I work at home, when I have a nice, big uninterrupted block of time in which I can really lose myself in my work."

Martin started writing the books in 1996 and said he would finish a novel in "a year" - but since then his age and workload has slowed down books being put out.

George had to speak out about his "slow" progress before, telling fans in 2009:

"Some of you are angry that I watch football during the fall … some of you hate my other projects … some of you don't want me attending conventions, teaching workshops, touring and doing promo, or visiting places like Spain and Portugal (last year) or Finland (this year). More wasting time, when I should be home working on A Dance with Dragons...After all, as some of you like to point out in your emails, I am 60 years old and fat, and you don't want me to 'pull a Robert Jordan' on you and deny you your book."

(FYI: Robert Jordan is the author of Wheel of Time series, which he died before completing).

Martin is currently completing the sixth book in the series, with no confirmed release date.

ON THURSDAY 12 JUNE 2014, WE WROTE...

WARNING: If you HATE GoT spoilers more than Cersei hates Tyrion, LOOK AWAY NOW.

This week's episode of Game of Thrones has been pretty epic - and the finale promises to be even greater, with an extra 15 minutes of action/people being killed off.

But if you were wondering what happened to Jon Snow after this week's battle-tastic episode - Kit Harington has come out in an interview and basically given away the whole thing for those that haven't read the books.

"The battle ends at the end of episode nine. The beginning of ten carries on with the story" Kit told a US mag.

"Jon is focused on being a leader. He's a much colder person after this (episode). He loses a lot of whatever warmth he had, which, let's face it, wasn't a lot. There's a lot of lessons he's learned in this last episode about doing what you need to do to survive and surviving past losing your love is one of those things. At the beginning of episode ten you see a very broken man."

So far, so good. But then the interviewer asks "what's next for you?" - and Kit really does give it away:

"Next I'm doing Thrones season five. And then I don't know until next year, really. This is where I start looking for projects for next year. But I might take a break. I really might take a break."

Hear that? Jon Snow does NOT get killed in the season finale. The interviewer twigs, and says:

"So we know Jon Snow survives the finale episode if you're headed to shoot next season" - to which Kit replies "Yeah, I guess you do!"

Naughty Jon Snow.

We'll forgive Kit though, because he does talk about filming his final scene (Again: SPOILER ALERT) with character Ygritte (played by Rose Leslie), and it's adorable:

"The hard thing for me with this season - and I wrote to the writers about it early on - is that I wanted the audience to know he's been missing her (Ygritte). In the books he thinks about her constantly. It's there, written down, that he's thinking about Ygritte. In this he doesn't mention her once until the very beginning of this episode. The real challenge for me this season was showing the audience that he loves her without saying anything or talking about it. Which is kind of impossible, showing the audience the inner-workings of your head. So I had to find moments of that happening and I hope I did."

You sure did, Kit. We're still weeping about it.
ON WEDNESDAY 9 APRIL, WE WROTE...

Game of Thrones fans prepare to be very happy as it's been announced the TV series will be renewed for another two seasons.

HBO announced that the season 4 premiere, which aired on Monday, drew in the network's biggest audience in seven years.

The series about civil war, nobility, mythical creatures and treachery was seen by an average of 6.6 million viewers on Sunday, topping its all-time high audience of 5.5 million.

The series averages a gross audience of 14.4 million per episode, which includes viewers who record the show to watch later, a popular option for the network's viewers.

The season four premiere saw the Stark family come to terms with the slaughter of main family members in the Red Wedding episode of the previous season. Audiences saw the young Arya Stark, played by Williams, take a dark, cruel turn as she exacts revenge for her family.
ON MONDAY 10 MARCH, WE WROTE...

HBO, this is all getting a bit too much! They've released a third Game of Thronestrailer which is getting us just too excited for Season 4.

This clip focuses on Daenerys Targaryen and her dragons, as well as showing Sansa Stark recalling the events of the Red Wedding.

In February, HBO released a clip entitled Vengeance, which showed Arya listing the names of people she wants to kill.

The tagline "All Men Must Die" showed that as in series past, NO character is safe from the chop - so bring a box of tissues when you settle down for the first episode, airing April 7.
ON MONDAY 10 FEBRUARY, WE WROTE...

HBO really are spoiling us with these Game of Thrones previews.

Although Season 4 of the drama doesn't air until April, the network have released another sneak peek at the fighting, scheming, great hair, back-stabbing and nudity we will no doubt witness in a 15-minute preview titled Game of Thrones Ice and Fire: A Foreshadowing.

The longest look yet at what to expect from the new season, new characters, such as Oberyn Martell, Prince of Dorne are introduced and cast members talk about the drama their characters are set to encounter.

GoT fans will know that the new season will cover events from the end of the second half of book A Storm of Swords, but may also include events from the fourth and fifth books A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons.

Watch the preview below.
ON THURSDAY 23 JANURARY, WE WROTE...

Finn Jones, who plays Loras Tyrell in Game of Thrones, has revealed the new season is going to be a corker.
Rex Features

Speaking to Access Hollywood, the actor said that the show "is going from strength to strength".

"It feels like it's really finding it's ground now and it's about to explode so I'm really excited."

He also hinted at some romance for his gay character on the show (hardly a surprise considering everyone is naked every five minutes), joking:

"There's not enough hot gay sex for Loras this season. I'm afraid there's just not enough".

Earlier this week a behind-the-scenes video of the new series was released, featuring interviews with the cast, with Charles Dance, who plays Tywin Lannister, promising "compelling storylines"

If that hasn't got you majorly excited for the next season, then enjoy this other video for the MAJOR chemistry between Emilia Clarke (aka Daenerys) and Jared Leto on the SAGs red carpet. Could a cameo from Jared as the Mother of Dragons' new romance be on the cards?

Roll on April 7 when GoT returns to Sky Atlantic!
ON MONDAY 13 JANUARY, WE WROTE...

Be still our thumping hearts. Hitting cyberspace late last night was the new full-length trailer for the hotly-anticipated season 4 of Game of Thrones.

Bearing the legend: "There's only one hell: the one we live in now." *Golly* the latest taster of what to expect featured an increasingly ballsy Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) threatening: "They have a choice; they can live in my new world or they can die in their old one." Go, Khaleesi! Meanwhile King Joffrey still managed to make our skin crawl within seconds, Cersei made some pretty big threats and Tyrion, our absolute fave, appeared to be great danger he "couldn't talk his way out off." Surely not?

Of the new season, George R.R. Martin recently told stateside E! News, "We have another royal wedding, this one is not red; this one is a different colour. We have the introduction of some great new characters. We finally introduce one of the most popular characters from the books: Prince Oberon Martell. The Red Viper of Dorne will be introduced for the first time and there will be some other new characters that I think the fans will like."

We can't wait. Although considering that this weekend HBO announced the new season won't be premiering in the UK until Monday, April 7 at 9pm on Sky Atlantic, it appears we have to.

SOB.

On Friday January 10th 2014, we wrote...

Ever since Game of Thrones ended last May, we've been pining for the new series like the Lannisters pine for a bloodthirsty battle/backstabbing scheme.

And now US network HBO have announced when season 4 is returning to TV - and happily Sky have swiftly followed suit to confirm we'll be watching shortly after our friends across the pond.

Game of Thrones season four will premiere in the UK on Monday, April 7 at 9pm on Sky Atlantic - less than 24 hours after it appears on HBO stateside.

After the epic finale last season (we won't dilvulge any spoilers, but OMG RED WEDDING), the next instalment looks just as great, with new cast membores including Mark Gatiss from Sherlock and Pedro Pascal from Homeland as Prince Oberyn Martell.

George Martin, the creator of the Game of Thrones books, will also return to direct an episode.

HBO whetted our appetite for Jon of Snow and co by releasing a preview for next season at the end of last year - albeit the tiniest snippet in the smallest segment of a trailer for all their programming for next year (we're sure those shows are great and all, but we totally skipped through their previews).

Whilst we enjoyed the little snippets of season 4 (Tyrion in chains! Joffrey looking evil! Sansa looking hopeful!), and we could even handle the painful harking back to last season's finale (let us never speak of the Red Wedding again), it's mainly because we're so desperate for news from Westeros we're absent-mindedly clicking through this gallery of Kit Harington to quench our GoT thirst.

So next time you try and get us excited HBO, bring out a LONGER trailer, OK? Or we'll have to get all Daenerys Targaryen on your a**.

Watch (and prepare to get kind of annoyed at the brevity of it all) below:
