Andy Carroll's West Ham injury nightmare has continued – and this time he can blame nobody but himself.
The former Newcastle and Liverpool striker revealed on his Instagram account that his latest mishap involved lunch, a knife and his finger. You can probably guess the rest.
The picture shows his bloodied little pinky wrapped in plaster and follows hot on the heels of another dopey personal disaster.
The beanpole hitman - soon to be a dad with girlfriend and ex-Towie star Billi Mucklow – missed West Ham's 1-1 FA Cup draw at Goodison Park on Tuesday with boss Sam Allardyce revealing he "kicked the floor" in training.
Speaking on BT Sport, Allardyce said: 'Andy kicked the floor in training and obviously his foot's a bit sore so we didn't bring him with us."
Big Geordie Carroll, 26, has suffered a string of injuries since moving to the Hammers from Liverpool in 2012.
And one wag replied to his latest social media update: "Will you be out for another 10 games now?"
Earlier this week the son of West Ham co-owner David Sullivan apologised for a "moment of madness" after mocking Carroll and Hammers team-mate Kevin Nolan on Twitter.
David Sullivan Jr, on the account @DavidSully, asked: "How the f*** Nolan is playing about League 2 amazes me. gives us all hope. Can we leave Nolan in Liverpool though seriously."
He then added: "Livid how sam says zarate isn't good enough to play for west ham and nolan is somehow."
Sullivan Jr also replied to a Tweet referring to Andy Carroll being out injured on his birthday: "If anyone sees Andy Carroll out tonight and can prove that it is tonight please send me a photo with proof it's today."
