Group Writes Military Board, demands Buhari’s certificates



As the Muhammadu Buhari certificate scandal trends, the Leadership and Accountability Initiative ( LAI), has written to the Nigeria Military Board, requesting it to release the academic records of Buhari.

The request, they said, is anchored on Section 1 and 7 of the Freedom of Information Act.

The Abuja based group’s letter dated January 6, 2015, addressed to the Secretary, copied the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Army Staff and signed by the Executive Coordinator, Nwazuruahu Henry Shield.

According to the group ” Standing on the strength of Sections 1 and 7 of the Freedom of Information Act, we wish to most respectfully apply for the information pertaining to the academic records of General Buhari (rtd), as claimed in his affidavit”

The group reminded the Board that Buhari who is the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), swore to an affidavit and claimed all his academic records are with the Military Board.

It added that ” Section 131 (d) of the 1999 constitution however states that an Aspirants for that office must possess a minimum of a School Certificate”
