Last night however the pop star surprised us all when she turned up to the premiere of her new concert movie - Katy Perry: Prismatic World Tour.
Gone was the bright and cheery and in its place was a look to rival Morticia Addams.

The 30-year-old wore a tuxedo style dress and a pair of very racy black lace up boots.
Her black hair was pulled off her face while she wore a deep purple lipstick – creating a lovely gothic glam look.
The singer told E! news that she was keeping her hair black for a reason – because she is in mourning.

She said: "It's black [because] I'm in mourning because this tour is almost finished,"
Katy also said she wasn’t feeling too nervous about the film showing. "I was in the editing bay for quite a long time in different spots around the world because I wanted to make sure I wasn't nervous and proud of the presentation of this tour because this tour has been kicking my butt all over the world for almost a year."
The tour ends in Bangkok on May 14 – so she’ll have black hair for quite a while longer.
