S’Eagles needs a foreign coach – Akpoborie

Former Super Eagles striker, Jonathan Akpoborie, believes to solution to Super Eagles under performance of late was hiring a foreign coach to manage the team.

Consequently, he has charged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on the need to hire a foreign coach that will help to reshape the team.

He was unhappy with the ‘sorry’ display of the Super Eagles in its 1-0 loss to Uganda on Wednesday in Uyo saying that Eagles should have won the match.

According to him, the Eagles poor display underscores the need to hire a foreign coach now.

“The Ugandans were not as talented as out footballers but they were well organised; they knew well what they had to do and they had a game plan and that’s why they won the game”

“Nigeria played like street boys; we played without a plan. We need a European coach; I know many people have been clamouring for our indigenous coaches but we just don’t have it.

“Maybe our coaches at the youth level can do very well but at the senior level right now, we can’t. It is very clear right now but if anybody says otherwise, then they don’t understand football.”
