It's finally here. Get those champagne emojis popping because the Air Jordan XXXI has officially shifted from Internet speculation, per Zack Schlemmer of Sneaker News, to an actual piece of footwear reality.

Blurring the lines between silhouettes past and present, Jordan Brand's latest signature endeavor is a direct tribute to the sneaker that started all of this chaos: the Air Jordan I.
Like the Air Jordan I, the XXXI will be unleashed with a "Banned" colorway. This colorway holds a special place in the hearts of sneakerheads, and the sole of the XXXI reflects that notion, using the "Banned" text itself to bring attention to the kicks while they're in flight.
It's a smart play for nostalgia buffs and the younger generation out there, who are all hoping for Jordan Brand to return to more of a "retro" form.
Going back to the design of a traditional basketball sneaker was in the cards with this model from the jump. News.Nike.com vaulted into further detail on the matter: "The Air Jordan XXXI represents a balance of Jordan Brand’s tradition of game-changing performance and its transcendent style."
The Air Jordan XXXI might use tradition to as its backdrop, but don't think for a second layers upon layers of advanced Jordan Brand technology aren't consuming the very core of this product. FlightSpeed technology, a full-scale Zoom Air unit and low-profile cushioning were all included when generating this model.
Unlike the leather-based OG Jordan I, the XXXI has been updated with a Flywire platform and a one-piece upper. Embracing this whole 2016 tech wave, the XXXI should prove to be another lightweight, supportive dream for those who enjoy the challenges of hoop life.
Jordan Brand is looking to strike gold with a return to its glory days. The Air Jordan XXXI, without question, is the cleanest looking signature model dating back at least a decade.
Set your digital calendars up for a September 3 release. That's when the Air Jordan XXXI "Bannedwill be making its way to retailers riding the coattails of a nostalgic chariot.
