Mourinho plans to sell Schweinsteiger, Mata and more in Man United clear-out

ESPN FC's Shaka Hislop breaks down the rumoured shake-up in the Man United camp.

With the summer transfer window upon us, rumours are picking up steam. Transfer Talk has its finger on the pulse when it comes to the latest gossip

TOP STORY: Mourinho preparing Old Trafford clear-out

Jose Mourinho will enter the next stage of his rebuilding job at Manchester United by making Juan Mata, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Marcos Rojo andDaley Blind available for transfer, according to the Daily Record.
Since taking over at Old Trafford, Mourinho has wasted no time in putting his stamp on the playing squad by signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly. All the while, Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been rumoured to be another major target.
But it is reported the Portuguese could become frustrated at how long United are taking to move on the players he has deemed surplus to requirements, something that could affect his preseason plans. Mata was a £37.1 million club-record signing from Mourinho's Chelsea in January 2014, when David Moyes was in charge of United, while Schweinsteiger, Rojo and Blind all arrived during Louis van Gaal's tenure for a combined figure of around £40m.

Chelsea move to beat Shanghai SIPG to Kante

Less than 24 hours after France exited Euro 2016 in heartbreaking fashion, Chelsea have formalised their interest in N'Golo Kante, reports the Telegraph. With Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG already tabling a £35m bid, the West London outfit have been forced into negotiations quickly.
The French midfielder has a £20m release clause in his Leicester City contract, though Chelsea reportedly understand they will need to exceed that number in order to land the 25-year-old. Antonio Conte's side aren't expected to be forced to meet the Chinese outfit's bid to secure Kante's signature, it's been reported.
With Juventus, Manchester United and Arsenal all also reportedly interested, Chelsea could face a bidding war. However, Kante is said to prefer a move to Stamford Bridge.

Guardiola still keen on Sane switch

Manchester City and Schalke hope to conclude speculation about Leroy Sane's future, one way or the other, following the conclusion of Euro 2016. If a move to the Etihad happens, it would put pressure on Raheem Sterling to deliver and cast doubt on the future of Jesus Navas.
According to the Telegraph, Schalke value the 20-year-old at £40m, despite the fact he is yet to make 60 appearances for the Bundesliga club. Nevertheless, Pep Guardiola remains keen and is hoping the Germany international signals an intention to move in order to push through a deal.

Tap-ins

The Mail reports that Tottenham are interested in signing Georginio Wijnaldum from Newcastle, but contrary to reports, they have not made an offer for Bayern Munich and Germany star Mario Gotze. Wijnaldum is keen to leave Newcastle just one year into a five-year contract, following their relegation from the Premier League, but the Magpies hope to make an £11m profit on a player they paid £14.5m for last summer -- something that has put Spurs off the move.
- Liverpool could hand Alex Manninger a one-year deal after inviting the former Arsenal goalkeeper to train with the club. The Sun writes that Jurgen Klopp likes the idea of the 39-year-old Austrian -- who has played in Germany, Spain and Italy, as well as in the Premier League -- acting as a mentor figure to younger players in the squad.
- Former Manchester United midfielder Nick Powell is set to drop into the Championship with Wolves after leaving Old Trafford on a free transfer earlier this summer, the Mail reports. The 22-year-old is also a target for Bristol City and Premier League new boys Hull. Powell was signed for United by Sir Alex Ferguson but only went on to make nine senior appearances in four seasons.
