Paul Pogba meets NFL hero Chad Johnson and NBA star Clint Capela as he edges closer to £110m Manchester United move
Paul Pogba played basketball with former NFL footballer Chad Johnson and met up with current NBA star Clint Capela as he continued his summer holidays in the United States.
Pogba is still absent from pre-season training with current club Juventus following his exertions with France at Euro 2016.
He has been enjoying the sunshine in the United States over the last few weeks, meeting up with a series of sports stars. Johnson also revealed that the duo played a game of futsal.
The 23-year-old Pogba wrote 'Good game bro' on his Twitter to Johnson before adding 'basketball meets soccer' in his message to Capela.
And it is not just Capela and Johnson that he has been hanging out with.
Pogba might be a highly rated footballer but he clearly also fancies himself to be a dab hand with a basketball.
He took on Everton striker Romelu Lukaku and his brother Jordan, who has just sealed a move to Italian side Lazio, on the court earlier this week.
Pogba might be making a move himself before the transfer window closes, although it would be away from Italy rather than to it.
Manchester United are trying to finalise a world record £110million transfer for the midfielder later this week.
Pogba's agent Mino Raiola flew to Miami to meet with his client and discuss the details of the switch to Old Trafford.
Juventus have agreed a £78m move for Napoli's Gonzalo Higuain, and the Old Lady of Turin is willing to let Pogba go if United agree to pay the 20 per cent bonus due to Raiola and Pogba, which is worth £18.4m.
Club coach Massimiliano Allegri confirmed: 'Pogba is a Juventus player at the moment but we don't know what is going to happen. The club are looking after negotiations.'
Pogba began his career at Old Trafford but was allowed to leave the club after making just three appearances in the Premier League.
