FC IfeanyiUbah striker, Stephen Adah has disclosed that his side celebrated widely as Cup final the top-flight victory against former Nigerian champions, Kano Pillars.

The Anambra Warriors defeated the Pyramid City side 2-1 in top-flight matchday 29 clash in Nnewi on Sunday. Pillars won the first fixture clash with two unreplied goals in Kano.

Adah said Kano Pillars have always been bad and difficult customers to FC IfeanyiUbah way back to their days as Gabros FC.

“The camp has been bubbling since Sunday we got the hard fought home victory against Kano Pillars.

“The mood among the entire team is like what obtains when a team emerge victorious in a major competition.

“The reason for the wide celebration is not farfetched as Kano Pillars have been bad customers to us even as Gabros FC.

“The last time Gabros FC/FC IfeanyiUbah had a win over Pillars dates back to 2005 so you can understand why we are celebrating the win like we have won the league title.

“However, we are still determined to challenge for the League crown as well as the Federation Cup.

“The victory against Kano Pillars has renewed our confidence to go the extra mile to challenge for the league title.

“And we have vowed to work even harder in the remaining matches on the calendar to chance realising the lofty dream.

“However, our main target is to hit the continent at the end of the on-going football season so we will not mind if we got the ticket through the league or Cup competition,” said the former Enugu Rangers and FC Taraba marksman to supersport.com.

FC IfeanyiUbah are eighth on the Nigerian top-flight log on 40 points eight behind league leaders and oriental neighbours, Enugu Rangers.
