Has claimed to be a fast food fan and to love McDonald's 'fish delight'

Donald Trump sat down to a KFC meal in his private jet on Monday - and tackled his fried chicken with a fork and knife.

The Republican nominee shared a photo of himself tucking into his dinner after a day of campaigning in major swing states Ohio and Pennsylvania.

He had removed his tie and undone the top buttons of his shirt before settling down at the table.

Trump has claimed to be a fast food aficionado and once told Anderson Cooper he routinely ordered McDonald's 'fish delight'.



McDonald's current menu does not include any item by this name. It does, however, offer the Filet-O-Fish, consisting of a fish patty with tartar sauce and American cheese on a bun.

The Filet-O-Fish was born in the early 1960s when franchisee Lou Groen sought to attract Catholic customers who did not eat meat on Fridays.

Trump protected the table of his private jet with paper napkins before enjoying his dinner on Monday.

His KFC bucket and a salt shaker also rested on a copy of the Wall Street Journal.




He held his silverware as he posed for the photo, grinning into the camera. A spoon also rested on a paper napkin next to his plate.

Trump told Cooper during a town hall in February that he enjoyed fast food on occasion.

He said he liked McDonald's Big Mac as well as the Quarter Pounder with cheese, and called KFC 'not the worst thing in the world'.


'I'm a person that - I like cleanliness, I like clean. I think you're better off going there than maybe someplace that you have no idea where the food's coming from,' Trump said at theCNN town hall.

Trump has documented his love of fast food previously during his presidential campaign, sharing a photo of himself eating a McDonald's meal on his plane in May.

The photo, which shows him reaching into a box of fries while a Big Mac and a Diet Coke await, became the subject of many humorous photo montages on the Internet.

On May 5, Trump also shared a picture of himself tucking into a taco bowl, saying in the caption it was to mark Cinco De Mayo.

'The best taco bowls are made in Trump Tower Grill. I love Hispanics!' he wrote in the caption.

Trump was pictured in 2011 eating pizza with a fork and knife next to Sarah Palin. Footage of the meal, which ran onABC News at the time, prompted angry comments from many New Yorkers who felt pizza was best eaten with the hands.
