Kate Hudson Pens Surprisingly Powerful Poem About Recent Tragedies

Kate Hudson has lent her voice to the chorus of individuals demanding action in the wake of the senseless tragedies that have marked 2016.
Following the fatal shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile and the attack on the Dallas police force Thursday night, the actress put figurative pen to paper to produce a poem about the seemingly never-ending patterns of violence.

“These last months have brought so much sadness,” Hudson captioned her Instagram. “From Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, Orlando shooting, Dallas, to terrorist attacks of late Bangladesh, Istanbul, Baghdad, Somalia. Everyday there is violence like this reported and not reported. It becomes overwhelming that there could be such hatred and senseless killing. When I can’t make sense of things I just start to write. I don’t usually share my writing but I felt a desire to put this out there. Peace ✌️”
