Lil Wayne hospitalized again after suffering seizure

Hip-hop star Lil Wayne was hospitalized again last week after suffering another seizure.

The "Lollipop" rapper spent time in the ICU after experiencing the medical issue moments before he was supposed to take the stage for a performance in Las Vegas, TMZ reports.

The seizure was reportedly "severe," but he has since been released and is currently resting in Miami.

Doctors concluded that Wayne, who has epilepsy, suffered the seizure due to an issue with his medication, according to TMZ. The rapper's physicians have reportedly struggled to determine the correct balance for his prescription.


The 33-year-old New Orleans native has a history of seizures, and his private jet was forced to make an emergency landing last month after experiencing one during a cross-country flight.


He suffered another minutes after the plane took off again, forcing the plane to land again. He was rushed to the hospital by ambulance shortly after.


TMZ reported several days later that Wayne was seen drinking a Promethazine and Codeine syrup cocktail called lean hours before his flight, but the gossip site later reported the seizures were the result of him not taking his medication.


Wayne returned to the stage and performed at the E3 Expo two days after being hospitalized last month.


His most recent seizure forced him to miss a performance at a pre-UFC 200 party at the TAO nightclub in Sin City.
