Whoopi Goldberg returning to 'The View' for another season - NY Daily News

"The View" will look at least partly the same next season.
Whoopi Goldberg officially signed on to return for the morning show's 20th season this fall.

The 60-year-old Oscar winner confirmed the move on Twitter:

"Ok NOW it's official, I have re-upped for 1 year returning to @TheView 4 the 2016/2017 season. Will continue 2 annoy some, delight others," tweeted Goldberg, who's been with the show since 2007.
That there's any continuity is a coup for the show, which has emerged from a long period with a revolving door of co-hosts, on- and off-camera bickering and low ratings.

One of her co-hosts, comedian Michelle Collins, was ousted after just one season, and Raven-Symoné and Candace Cameron Bure may yet join her out the door.

But showruner Candi Carter, who was promoted to full executive producer, has made moves to ensure continuity after the show's improved viewership in the latter half of last season. Joy Behar and Paula Faris are also coming back next season.

Goldberg's one year contract will play her between $5 and $6 million, according to a previous Variety report.
