Luke Shaw has said that after all the warm-up matches and hype during pre-season, things get real for Manchester United today when they take on Bournemouth.
The defender, who is back in Premier League action following his horrific leg break last year, says the game on the south coast is a chance for the players to prove they’ve taken on board the instructions and wishes of new manager Jose Mourinho.
‘We’ve had a long pre-season. We’ve dealt with it very well, today is the main one. We want to prove to him [Mourinho] that we know what he wants us to do,’ Shaw told Sky Sports at the Vitality Stadium.
‘This is the game I’ve been looking for to the most. It’s been such a long time since I’ve played in the Premier League.’

Shaw also said that the summer signings, which have seen Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba arrive at Old Trafford, have changed the feeling at the club.
‘I think it boosts the whole squad. We’ve seen how Pogba has come in this week. It’s built up an atmosphere. Everyone’s looking very strong and fit.’
