Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly held a meeting with Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli, but it was not over a potential move to Old Trafford.
Liverpool have made it clear they are ready to sell Balotelli and Italian outlet Calciomercato claim the 26-year-old has drafted in his former managers to give him advice on his future.
One such former boss is Mourinho, who coached the Italian at Inter Milan before his big move to Manchester City, and the United boss has given his former player some solid tips.
Balotelli's club record
Inter Milan (2006-10) – 90 apps 20 goals
Manchester City (2010-13) – 80 apps 30 goals
AC Milan (2013-14) – 77 apps 33 goals
Liverpool (2014-present) – 28 apps 4 goals
Balotelli has run into issues finding a new club with perspective employers unwilling to meet his wage demands with concerns over his attitude.
Again and again the forward has made the front pages instead of the back, with incidents such as fireworks set off in bathrooms and smoking on an impromptu holiday in the middle of pre-season marring Balotelli’s reputation.
Mourinho has reportedly told Balotelli that he needs to change his attitude if he wants to rejuvenate his career in football.
