Donald Trump compares himself to victims of police shootings

Faced with the chaos of the last week and questions about racism in American society, Donald Trump somehow manages to focus on his own thin skin.
The presumptive Republican nominee spoke with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly on Tuesday after police brutalty against black men, and said that he “can relate it really very much to myself.”
The conservative host had questioned whether American life is geared against black people’s success, prompting Trump to lament his own position as a contender for leader of the free world.
“I’ve been saying even against me the system is rigged. When I ran for president I could see what was going on with the system and the system is rigged,” he said on Tuesday.
Trump told O’Reilly that he was saddened by the police shootings last week of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, and that video of the events was “a terrible disgusting performance that I saw.”
The billionaire said that the vast majority of police in country do a good job, but speculated that those involved in recent shootings may have suffered from a lack of training.
He also seemingly blamed tension in the country on a lack of pep, and criticized President Obama’s approach in trying to bring the country together.
“The country has no spirit. We need a cheerleader, not a divider,” he said.
Trump, who added that Black Lives Matter was also dividing the country, said that he cannot understand the black American experience because he is not black, but added that he could help fix the problem because he does “understand what goes on in life.”
Though his campaign has been accompanied by discussion of race and his racism, much of it has been about discrimination against groups other than black people.
However, Trump's Twitter account had previously tweeted inaccurate crime statistics vastly overstating the percentage of homicides committed by black people.
The tweet, which featured a photo of a black man with a gun and a bandana over his face, also compared the fake homicide rates to the percentage of black people killed by police.
