Zlatan Ibrahimovic documentary charts iconic striker's incredible rise from Malmo to Manchester United via tears, tantrums and titles

Before he was the brash, big-time quote machine that he is today, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was a gawky teenager only just starting explore the full extent of prodigious talent at Malmo.

The Swede wasn't always so self-assured and a fascinating new documentary featuring never-seen before footage of his early career in his homeland sheds new light onto the development of one of world football's most distinct
personalities.
'Becoming Zlatan', a 17-year project produced by award-winning film-makers Fredrik and Magnus Gertten, is set to be released by Studio Canal on DVD and digital download on August 15.

Although the 96-minute film largely signs up for the general depiction of Ibrahimovic as being a pouting prima-donna albeit with undoubted skill, it doesn't shy away from showing his less distinguished moments as an adolescent punished for his arrogance.
Essentially, the film shows us how Ibrahimovic learnt to toe the line and harness that attitude rather than succumb to it.
IBRAHIMOVIC LEAGUE TITLES
AJAX (2001-04): 2 titles (2001-02, 2003-04)
JUVENTUS (2004-06): 2 titles* (2004-05, 2005-06)*Both revoked for Italian match-fixing scandal
INTER MILAN (2006-09): 3 titles (2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09)

Of course, Ibrahimovic's footballing CV speaks for itself. He started his carer at Malmo, before moving to Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and most recently Manchester United.
He boasts the remarkable record of winning 13 domestic league titles in 15 years, including one in his first season at each new club.
The 34-year-old signed for United earlier this summer on a free transfer after his contract expired at PSG.
His arrival at Old Trafford signals a reunion with manager Jose Mourinho with whom he worked under and enjoyed a prolific campaign at Inter.
On signing a one-year contract with United worth £200,000 per week, Ibrahimovic told the club's website: 'I am absolutely delighted to be joining Manchester United and am looking forward to playing in the Premier League.
'It goes without saying that I cannot wait to work with Jose Mourinho once again. He is a fantastic manager and I am ready for this new and exciting challenge.
'I have thoroughly enjoyed my career so far and have some great memories. I am now ready to create more special memories in England.'
Mourinho added himself: 'Zlatan needs no introduction. The statistics speak for themselves. Ibra is one of the best strikers in the world and a player who always gives 100 per cent.
'He has won the most important league championships in the world of football, now he has the opportunity to play in the best league in the world and I know he will grasp this opportunity and will work hard to help the team win titles.'
