‘Homosexuality has destroyed my life, marriage’ – Suspect confesses to police in Enugu

A man nabbed for sodomising male children in Enugu State says the devil pushed him into the act.

But for the intervention of operatives from the Central Police Station of the Enugu State Command, two men caught in the act of having homosexual sex with young boys, Odinaka Orji, 32, and 22-year-old Nonso Ejimeme, would have been dead by now after the angry mob was bent on lynching them.


According to Vanguard, the two were severely beaten, stripped naked and would have been burnt if not for the police that arrived at the scene and whisked them away into the safety of their custody.


In confessing to how the act has destroyed his life and marriage, Orji said his wife left him after he was caught sodomising a six-year-old boy in their area.

Orji and Ejimeme were nabbed at the Coal Camp area of the metropolis after they allegedly lured two six-year-old boys identified as Chimezie and Sunday, into their room at 78, Industrial Area, and were at the point of raping them before the boys ran out and raised an alarm.

Blaming the devil for his involvement in the act, Orji said he had gone to several spiritualists and native doctors to seek for help to no avail.

 The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the arrest of the suspects in a bulletin.

“Our men saved them from being lynched by the irate mob, following their involvement in sodomy. The mob had already stripped them naked before the security operatives of the Central Police Station, Enugu, intervened and took them into custody.

One of the suspects, Odinaka, maintained that he is married but his wife has left him owing to these illicit activities which he blamed on Satan. According to him, he has visited many clergies to get him out of the activity without success.

In the present case, he stated that he was on the verge of having an intercourse with a boy named Sunday, in his room when the boy ran out and raised alarm which attracted the mob that almost killed him.”
