New Honda Summer Clearance Commercials Cover Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson, and More
Today Honda debuted six new music-themed commercials about the “love-at-first-sight feeling” feeling that car shoppers experience when they first encounter a new Accord, Civic, CR-V, Fit, or Odyssey. Designed to promote the automaker’s annual Summer Clearance Event, the “Now Is the Moment” ad campaign begins airing on television today.
In each video, a car shopper’s immediate attraction to a new Honda vehicle is symbolized by spontaneous, a cappella renditions of classic and contemporary pop songs.
For example, in this spot for the 2016 HondaAccord, viewers are treated to a doo-wop group’s take on Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love”:
Similarly, a commercial for the 2016 Civic includes a girl group singing Kelly Clarkson’s “My Life Would Suck Without You,” a spot for the CR-V is scored by a gospel rendition of the Go-Go’s “Head Over Heels,” and an ad for the Odyssey family minivan features a children’s choir performing a rock and roll staple.
Finally, Berlin’s “Take My Breath Away” is given new life by a whole host of angels in avideo promoting Honda’s complete lineup:

“This eye-catching campaign celebrates that moment when a buyer falls for a new Honda, and the Honda brand begins an enduring connection with the customer,” said Honda marketing executive Susie Rossick. “Ultimately, our goal is to break through the car sales-event clutter and remind people that summer is the best time to get a great deal on a Honda.”
The ads begin running on network broadcast and cable networks today, July 18th, while additional Hispanic Honda Summer Clearance Event spots air on Univision, Telemundo, and Fox Deportes.
