Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani all smiles as prepares to become the main man at Parc des Princes

Edinson Cavani looks happy to finally be the main man at Paris Saint Germain after the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Laurent Black turned the page on a new chapter for the Uruguayan striker.

Despite arriving at Parc des Princes for £55millon after plundering goals at Napoli, under Blanc Cavani was frequently shunted out wide to play a supporting role to Ibrahimovic.

Even with his opportunities to play through the middle limited, the 29-year-old has still found the net 81 times in 148 appearances for the French champions.

Now he can look forward to making significant additions to that already impressive tally as he lines up for his first season without the Swede at the club.
The pair constantly had to deny rumours of a rift between them, a line they maintained until Ibrahimovic's departure.
Even if the rumours were untrue, Cavani seems to relishing the chance to prove himself as top dog with Les Parisiens.
The former Palermo man took to Instagram after a pre-season session at PSG's training base, Camp des Loges, with the caption 'ending another day of preparation'.
The smiling Cavani does not appear to be a man on the verge of move, despite persistent reports linking the striker with moves to Juventus and Manchester United.
Reports in Paris suggest Cavani is awaiting a meeting with new Parc des Princes boss Unai Emery for clarification on is role and who will be arriving at the club this summer.
