Trump says he would not accept Cruz endorsement

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump would not accept an endorsement from onetime rival candidate Sen. Ted Cruz, he said Friday.

Trump spoke two days after Republican delegates booed the Texas senator off the stage at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland for declining to endorse the party’s candidate. Trump said any direct support from Cruz would be moot at this point at a news conference Friday, CNN reported.
“If he gives it, I will not accept it,” Trump said. “I don’t want his endorsement. Just, Ted, stay home, relax, enjoy yourself.”
Cruz has not revealed which candidate he will vote for in the upcoming presidential election between Trump and presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Yet he said he could never endorse his party’s candidate after Trump attacked his wife and claimed Cruz’s father had involvement in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
